Ok, I placed my first trackable WS Geocoin in a cache. The cache waypoint is GC19J44. To track the coin and place it on your "watchlist"; go to "trackable items" at www.geocaching.com and enter in the the tracking #TB1WEGC and it will take you to the coin's page. The coin is titled "Rocky's WS geocoin #1".

Ok, another WS Geocoin is out there in cache-land! The waypoint for the cache I put it in is GC14Y12 "Big Al in the Sky" and the geocoin tracking # is: TBZM4VK

NOTE: Do not give out the Tracking # on the COIN. The tracking # I reference is a number that is given to the coin once it is ACTIVATED. That # will always start with "TB" (for travel bug). If someone has the ACTUAL tracking # that is printed on the coin, they can alter the coins' destination.

I placed 2 of the wooden Wildsurvive coins in two caches this weekend:

One was GCPNXB (Can you see me now?) and one in GCYYXV (Cisco Grove TB stop). I think the coin #'s were 54 and 80. I can't remember, but I'll write them down next time. The first cache was up at 7800ft of altitude! That was a fun hike!

Lovely site. The area was covered by (6) bright orange toadstools. Really neat, and my camera was back in the vehicle. Sorry no pics.

The Oak Coin #46 still there, but no other TB's, evidently some more activity not posted.

Oak coins #58 and #39 missing and not logged.

Rocky sent me one of the coins and directions.  The coin is so pretty, I hate to let it go!   After dinner tonight, Gail, Hank and I will follow the directions and activate it.  This should be so much fun!

I should have started some rumor like the state parks do about old ghost towns here in Cali. They have started rumors that if you take something from a ghost town you'll have bad luck. They have this story about some guy who took an old square nail from the ghost town Bodie in the eastern Sierras and "mysteriously" died several days later.

I should start a rumor that if you keep a WS geocoin for too long you'll grow hair on  your palms. Oh, wait, I think that one has been taken, well how about you'll go blind then! Wait, that one is taken too. Alright, how about this one, if you keep a WS coin for too long you'll wake up one day, and Swede will be in the bed with you in a thong.

THAT should scare the crap outta ya'll!

Ok, I was at Malakoff Diggins yesterday with one of my boys. There's a lot to say about this place, so I'll give you a website that describes it.

http://www.pioneermining.com/dist_malakoff.htm

One geocoin (TB1WEGG) and one WS wooden coin (#85) went into one cache (GC1776W - Tunnel Vision). This cache is by a diversion tunnel that is hundreds of feet long.

This is what the damage of hydraulic mining has done. Granted the mining was stopped in 1884, and the land STILL hasn't recovered.

Here's the plaque in the old ghost town where the company HQ was:
