Here's my guess....BigBlue is going to have this last minute entry with 8 courses all made from a stove carved out of ironwood and a full set of cooking utensils whittled from some hardwood tree he saw on a 30 mile hike to find the "perfect" mushroom for the reux needed for 3 of the 8 courses. Desert (2 of the courses) will consist of some exotic berry that is only germinated if some rare seagoing bird poops on it during the third phase of venus when the moon is aligned with virgo exactly at 1200 zulu! Then to top it off he'll have chainsawed a block of sea ice and rendered it into an elaborate "ice" carving depicting Swede and Mistwalker in thier birthday suits frozen in a pose of two ancient greco-roman wrestlers fighting over a caribou carcass in between them.

Just my guess, we'll see...... :)

Gee, Bravo!  I usually don't care for turkey legs, but that really looks good!   :dribble:

Im afraid our contest judge for the primitive cooking demonstration has left on vacation and wont be back till the 22 of this month. Consequently the deadline has been extended till his return. Now get busy you cyber survivors. Jeese.   :nono:

I've been converted to cooking on the trail - it tastes so much better :) I usually go once a week hiking - but have never been bothered to cook anything during the 1 day hike. I usually take some cold food with me, some chocolate bars and water. But now I'm considering building a stove for some quick tasty meals :)
Here is a tutorial: http://www.csun.edu/~mjurey/stoveinstruct.html
All you need is 3 cans of beer - and a little time, and you save 100$. With this kind of stove you can prepare something really fast while taking a break. Or thats how I imagine it - when I'll finish it I will post a review. The problem is I can't find that exact type of beer can. Here Heineken has a different can than in the UK.
