Well, as much as I despise the "pick 5" game, I would like to re-do my choice from earlier

1- ESEE 4
2- Aqua Gear Tarp
3-Canteen Cup Kit
4-Strikeforce w/ tinder in butt
5-50' Paracord
Complain less, breathe more.

Thanks! But I need to confess one thing: I used to "modifie" my waterproof matchbox adding a small (3/16"x2") ferro rod  ;)

great idea how about a striker for the matches? A pice of file

A piece of sandpaper about the same grit as a matchbox striker is what I use

I'm gaming the idea just a bit.

1.)  Polar Plastics 6-Mil Clear Poly All-Purpose Plastic Sheeting - 20' x 100' Roll  $98

2.)  1000 Foot Royal Blue 550 Type III Commercial Paracord  $55

3.)  Reynolds Standard Aluminum Foil - 12" x 1000'  $47

4.)  Blackie Collins 22 inch Ontario Machete (Made in USA)  $30 A long time ago

5.)  Kephart's Camping and Woodcraft  $2 at a used book store

Another part of this is where are you going?  Because almost anywhere anymore there's stuff to repurpose that you can find.

10 items, I'd say you could be pretty comfortable.
