Unexpected Source For Fish Bait
« on: September 23, 2013, 09:46:31 PM »
I picked up a few Bur Oak acorns and put them in a bowl to dry and to my surprise worm larva's chewed out of the nuts and were covering the bottom of the bowl. This is a good source for fish bait that can easily be obtained. This bottle has about 35 worms in it out of two dozen acorns so far.

Those that give up liberty for safety deserve neither.

i dont know which i like better, a sunrise or a sunset, but any day i get to see both is a good day.

The more you know.....the less you need

Cool! Do you guys have Catalpa trees up there? They have worms in the seed pods similar to those. Catalpa worms are great fishing bait.

Ive got some catalpa trees on our farm. Some years are better for bait then others.

I took my acorn grubs over to our pond to see if I could catch a fish.I caught three and I quit.
