New on the market Salt Water Desolenator
« on: April 09, 2016, 09:50:16 AM »
The world is rapidly reaching global water crisis mode with nearly one billion people lacking access to clean potable water. But a new solar-powered invention by award-winning British company Desolenator can turn seawater into drinking water and may turn this dire situation around in a hurry.

That a great idea, They need to produce larger "Group" or "Community" level units that could do 100's of liters a day or more.

When I was in high school, I tried to design a passive solar deselinator, but it had a few issues, I talked with a couple engineers and the thing they pointed out in my design was the build up of salt and minerals extracted from the water.  They said my design would clog up in a couple of days.   I wonder where the salt and other minerals end up in this device?

There would have to be some method of back flushing the system to clear out the accumulations of salt and minerals.
