Scouts Canada
« on: May 22, 2016, 11:43:29 AM »
hey all!

OK so Im a newest scout instructor for the 109th in London!

handful of first year scouts, and even the instructors dont have a lot of outdoors training (which seems odd considering its scouts??)

anyhow,  the first weekend in june is our first camp, the kids want to learn some skills.......what is your take?

tinder gathering and fire building? shelter making? flints and steel work?.......all of the above if you ask me!

however, most of these kids wear Gucci clothes and designer crap to the field! it kills me.......so, i say keep em dirty, the kids will learn!

thoughts??

cheers

I said tinder gathering fire and matches you should learn those first my opinion

A good hike with some plant identification is always a good start too.
